Festa do Divino Espírito Santo de Turmalina begins this Friday Ester Cordeiro/Personal archive The traditional Festa do Divino Espírito Santo de Turmalina, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, begins this Friday (10th) and continues until the 20th. The event constitutes a historical, cultural and social heritage that, for more than two centuries, has preserved traditions, strengthened the identity of the community and kept alive a heritage transmitted between generations. (See the schedule below) "With each edition, thousands of residents, visitors and people from Tourmaline who live in other cities return to their homeland to renew their faith, reunite with family and strengthen ties with their origins. During the festivities, Praça Horácio Viana, known as Praça da Matriz, becomes the heart of the celebration. Specially decorated to receive thousands of people, it becomes a symbol of the centuries-old tradition that characterizes the festival", highlighted the organization in a note sent to the press. ?Click here to follow the g1 Grande Minas channel on WhatsApp This year, the celebration will be inspired by the theme "Love supports everything and never ends", based on 1 Corinthians 13, verses 7 and 8, known as the Hymn to Love and written by the apostle Paul. According to the organization, one of the most anticipated moments of the program is the traditional Parade of the Divine, which brings together symbols of the Christian faith and popular tradition in a procession. Participating in the procession are the Caboclinhos, the Flag of the Divine, angels, the liturgical body of the Church, representations of the Annunciation, the Holy Scripture, the Tablets of the Law, the tongues of fire of Pentecost, the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Twelve Fruits of the Spirit and the Theological Virtues, in addition to revelers, communities, clerks of the Divine, Emperor, Empress, imperial court and Corporation Musical.
