Faithful celebrate Our Lady Queen of Angels on August 15th Beatriz Braga The Diocese of Petrolina, in the Sertão of Pernambuco, begins this Tuesday (4) the program in honor of Our Lady Queen of Angels. The celebrations for the municipality's patron saint mobilize thousands of faithful and continue until August 16th. This Tuesday, the Main Church will host the 6th edition of the Tribute to the Queen of Angels, at 7pm, with the presence of Monsignor Givanildo José. ?: Download the g1 app to see news from Petrolina and the region in real time and for free. The official opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday (5). The image of the saint will leave in a river procession along the São Francisco River at 5pm and will be received on the Petrolina waterfront at 6pm. Then, at 7:30 pm, Bishop Dom Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos celebrates a mass in the cathedral. During the other days of the novena, the program will feature daily masses in the cathedral and in the Main Church, always starting at 6am. Festival of Our Lady Queen of Angels is now Petrolina's intangible cultural heritage. On August 15th, the date dedicated to the patron saint, the tributes begin with a festive dawn at 6:30 am. Throughout the morning, masses take place in the cathedral and in the Main Church.
