As of June 20, 392,800 cases of the disease had been recorded. The survey considers information from Arujá, Biritiba-Mirim, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Guararema, Itaquaquecetuba, Mogi das Cruzes, Poá, Salesópolis, Santa Isabel and Suzano. The drop was recorded in all cities. ? The numbers show that the reduction occurred in all municipalities that responded to the survey. In some cities, the drop in confirmed cases exceeded 90%.
Notifications of suspected dengue cases also decreased in the first half of 2026. Compared to the same period in 2025, Alto Tietê recorded a reduction of around 71.9% in records. Salesópolis is the only city in Alto Tietê that recorded a drop of less than 60%, with only four cases difference compared to the same period in 2025. Despite the decrease in records, the municipal health departments reinforce that the population must maintain precautions to eliminate breeding sites for the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The recommendation is to avoid the accumulation of stagnant water in containers such as vases, tires, gutters and water tanks.

The main symptoms include fever, headache, weakness, muscle or joint pain and pain behind the eyes. The dengue vaccine became part of the Unified Health System (SUS) in December 2023.
