A 37-year-old driver was arrested for drug trafficking in the early hours of Wednesday (22), in Monte Mor (SP). He was transporting 257 kilos of marijuana hidden in a trailer on Rodovia Jornalista Francisco Aguirre Proença (SP-101). According to the Narcotics Investigations Department (Dise) of Americana (SP), the following were seized: 270 bricks of marijuana (257 kilos); a trailer; a cell phone. The action, called "Operation Trevo", began after the police investigated the sending of drugs to the region. With the characteristics of the truck in hand, the agents began to monitor the highway. At around 3:30 am, the team approached the vehicle at the city's entrance junction. A white car that was ahead of the truck fled at high speed upon noticing the police and was not located. ? According to the report to the police, he left Dourados (MS) headed for Vinhedo (SP) and would receive R$30,000 for transporting the cargo. During the initial inspection, agents found part of the drugs behind the driver's seat. The truck was taken to the police station, where a detailed search located the remainder of the cargo inside drums and the toolbox. The man was taken to the Public Prison of Sumaré (SP) and must undergo a custody hearing. The Civil Police continue the investigation to identify others involved.
