Traditional dance of Natividade becomes intangible heritage of Tocantins The Dança Suça, a cultural and religious manifestation originating in Natividade, in the southeast region of Tocantins, was recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State. The measure was made official by Law No. 5,064, of July 16, 2026, published in the Official State Gazette. ? According to the text, the recognition aims to value, preserve and disseminate the manifestation as part of the cultural identity of Tocantins. The demonstration brings together singing, drumming, walking and long, full skirts. Groups of susseiros promote presentations and events that contribute to heritage appreciation and education. Recognition as intangible cultural heritage represents, in practice, the possibility of strengthening cultural identity and creating policies to safeguard and value tradition.
