Bus crashes into pole during robbery on Estrada da Mata, in São Luís A public transport bus was the target of criminals on Saturday afternoon (4), on Estrada da Mata, in the Geniparana neighborhood, in São Luís. During the robbery, one of the criminals tried to stab the driver, who lost control of the steering wheel when trying to defend himself. The vehicle left the road and collided with an electricity pole (see the moment of collision in the video above). According to information from the Maranhão Military Police (PM-MA), three criminals armed with a knife entered the collective and announced the robbery, around 4pm. During the action, the driver was threatened and, when trying to avoid an attack, he ended up losing control of the bus, causing the collision. ? The pole that was hit was also broken in half. According to the driver's report to the PM, the money collected from the tickets was not taken by the criminals. However, passengers had their belongings stolen during the robbery. According to the Military Police, the robbers left behind some objects during their escape, including a knife, a hat and a slipper. The knife that would have been used in the attempted attack was found inside the collective. The materials were collected for the appropriate procedures. The PM reported that they responded to the incident and carried out the necessary measures at the scene. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police, which will investigate the circumstances of the crime and identify those involved. To date, there is no record of suspects identified or arrested.
