Vectra's construction site work teams and partner contractors participated, on July 17, at the company's headquarters in Londrina, in the 8th Cycle of the Excelência em Obras Program and the 2nd Cycle of the Ponta Firme Contractor Program. The meeting also marked the celebration of the construction company's 30th anniversary, celebrated alongside direct employees and third parties. Fernanda Khater, labor lawyer. Rafael Françoso. The event opened with a lecture by labor lawyer Fernanda Khater, on documentation aimed at contractors. The presentation addressed the importance of labor documentation, focusing on work safety, breaks and collective agreements, in addition to the requirements that Vectra demands from contracted companies. According to Fernanda, having documentation up to date is not enough. “It is necessary to monitor the use of protective equipment and verify that what is documented is, in fact, being followed in practice,” he states. The lawyer reinforces the need for constant updating on the topic, as the legislation and its jurisprudence, as well as the Regulatory Standards, are under constant review. Awards The 8th Cycle of the Excellence in Construction Program recognized the employees who stood out the most for their good performance in Quality, 5S, Lean and Safety on construction sites. The following works competed for awards: Wynn, Oro, Gaia, Hera and Zahra. In a fierce dispute, first place went to the Oro team; second, Wynn won; and third, Gaia. Team Oro receives first place awards for the third consecutive time in Excellence in Works. Rafael Françoso. For the third time in a row, Oro employees celebrated first place in the program. According to Isabela Baggio, engineering assistant at the site, the work has been underway for three years and has participated in the last five editions of the program, appearing on the podium in all of them. "It's the result of the team's complete effort. The award is the icing on the cake. People are more motivated on a daily basis and, when the award is coming, it encourages the team even more", he celebrates. For the engineer, one of the main challenges at the construction site is the safety and organization routine. "Overcoming these challenges every day, especially in terms of safety and cleanliness, is essential for everything to flow smoothly and for us to deliver the project with quality, safety and on time. After all, it is the home that the client expects to receive", he says. She also points out the importance of team collaboration and adds that employees need to understand each other, respect each other and do their work with dedication. The event brought together direct collaborators and third parties from Vectra’s works. Rafael Françoso. In the assessment of Vectra's executive works manager, Fernando Cruz, since its implementation, the program has changed the way construction sites are conducted. "We have reached a level of maturity and organization on the construction sites that is a direct result of the Excellence in Works Program. Today, we have a more organized, more productive and safer work, which are the pillars of the program", he analyzes. Cruz assesses that employee engagement is high and results in positive competition between teams. "Employees are well engaged. It's healthy competition, which generates the excellence we seek, with everyone doing their best", he summarizes. Ponta Firme Contractor The Ponta Firme Contractor Program, which is in its second cycle, provides for monthly assessments conducted by the Engineering, Quality, Specialized Services in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) and Third Party Labor Management teams, based on criteria such as deadline, quality, service, cleanliness and organization, safety and documentation. In this second cycle, the companies Climac, specialized in residential air conditioning, were recognized and awarded, which took first place; NJS, which supplies aluminum frames, in second place; and Engetec, which works with prestressing, in third. The three companies achieved the highest scores and, in addition to the trophy, received a cash prize. Contractors were recognized for excellence in providing services. Rafael Françoso. Climac representative, Clayton Rodrigues, attributes the result to the efforts of employees and the partnership with Vectra. He states that, to ensure excellence in the provision of services, the company visits the construction sites at least once a week and that it has sought out the construction company to implement improvements since joining the program. The contractor's work begins immediately after the masonry begins. "We entered the work right after plastering, with the walls already raised, to build the entire air conditioning infrastructure, always before installing the ceiling", he says. Vectra team responsible for audits and conducting excellence programs on construction sites. Rafael Françoso. Vectra's corporate governance coordinator, Vanessa Paulino Regly Schuindt, explains that the evaluation is carried out every semester. The governance team conducts quality and 5S audits every 15 days at construction sites, while safety audits are carried out by an outsourced consultancy, also every fortnight. The evaluation of contractors follows a different flow. "For the Ponta Firme Contractor, the evaluation is monthly and brings together those responsible for the safety and documentation of the contractors, the governance team, quality and the construction engineer", he mentions. It also highlights the important role of contractors in carrying out the works. "Practically all the labor is outsourced. Vectra's own team provides support - logistics, safety and quality checklists -, but those who actually put the work to work are the contractors. Therefore, their support is essential to comply with quality, safety, cleanliness and organization standards", he adds. The next cycle of programs will be carried out in January 2027.
