With initiatives aimed at waste management, credit for solar energy and other fronts, the cooperative strengthens environmental awareness among employees and members. Sicredi Small attitudes make a difference when it comes to sustainability. Separating waste correctly, reusing materials, reducing energy consumption, changing the electrical matrix and supporting projects that generate a positive impact on communities are choices that help build a more conscious and prosperous future. Operating in Mato Grosso and Pará, the cooperative Sicredi Ouro Verde MT/PA reinforces this commitment by bringing together members, collaborators and partners of initiatives that combine cooperativism, regional development and care for the environment. The cooperative maintains projects aimed at the conscious use of resources, correct waste management and support for initiatives with a positive impact on communities. One of these fronts is Sustenta Sicredi, a program linked to the Zero Waste concept. The initiative organizes the separation and disposal of waste generated by the cooperative, with the aim of reducing the volume of materials sent to landfills and expanding reuse. In 2025, the cooperative received the Zero Waste Award, in the Services category, granted by the Lixo Zero Brasil Institute, and the Lixo Zero Azul certification. The recognition shows that waste management has been continuously incorporated into the cooperative's routine, with practices that reduce environmental impacts and reinforce care for the communities where it operates. Within Sustenta Sicredi, the cooperative also develops an action aimed at reusing textile waste. The initiative allows employees to send unusable uniform pieces, which are destined for an association of seamstresses and transformed into new products, contributing to income generation. For Victor Luiz Uchoa, Cooperative and Sustainability advisor at Sicredi Ouro Verde MT/PA, giving visibility to these practices also helps to encourage other initiatives in the communities. "When the cooperative shows what it already does on a routine basis, it also inspires members, companies and society to be part of this trend. Sustainability is an important topic for the future of our territory, and leading by example strengthens this movement", he stated. Another prominent front is the green economy. Currently, Sicredi Ouro Verde MT/PA has more than R$2.2 billion in a credit portfolio intended for operations with a positive economic, social and environmental impact. In March 2025, this volume was approximately R$800 million, which shows the cooperative's progress in offering financial solutions linked to sustainable development. The growth follows a national movement by Sicredi, which ended 2025 with R$98.2 billion in credit portfolio classified as green economy. In the case of Sicredi Ouro Verde MT/PA, the resources include different profiles of associates, such as family rural producers, women entrepreneurs, agribusiness associates and operations focused on more sustainable practices. "When the cooperative grants credit, it contributes to different groups, from rural family producers to entrepreneurial women, agricultural associates and operations with sustainable practices. It is an important indicator of sustainability and we have made great progress in recent months", highlights Victor. Other initiatives The commitment to sustainability also appears on other fronts at Sicredi. In the area of ??operation of Central Sicredi Centro Norte, which covers Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia, Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Roraima and some cities in Goiás, the cooperatives reduced greenhouse gas emissions in their operations by 14% in 2025, even in a year of expansion. The data is part of Sicredi's Systemic Emissions Inventory and reinforces the institution's search for more efficient operations with less environmental impact. At a national level, another interesting fact is that Sicredi ended 2025 with R$98.2 billion in credit portfolio balance classified as green economy, growth of 10.3% compared to the previous year. The performance is part of the 2025 Sustainability Report, released in April, and consolidates the advances made by the cooperative financial institution in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars. Financing aimed at agribusiness totals R$43.1 billion, equivalent to 44% of the institution's green portfolio. Of this total, R$20.8 billion is linked to Family Rural Production (Pronaf); R$10.4 billion for low-carbon agriculture; R$ 6.9 billion, to rural women producers; and R$4.9 billion, to good agricultural practices, such as crop rotation and efficient use of water. "We are aware of the importance of our business, which combines economic and social development with the lowest possible environmental impact, the results of which are reflected in the cooperative and society. The more people involved, the greater the impact of these initiatives. Because we want the sustainable development of our operations, at all levels, whether internally, with employees and associates, or for the community", summarizes the president of the cooperative, Eledir Pedro Techio.
