The group investigated is identified as responsible for the supply of cocaine and crack in Petrolina and the region. According to the police, the large shipments of drugs were brought from the state of Bahia. During the overt phase, police seized 13,090 kg of cocaine and 5,150 kg of crack hidden inside a car. The vehicle was used exclusively for the interstate transport of drugs. Another team searched a property in the Antônio Cassimiro neighborhood, which served as a warehouse for the criminal organization. Approximately 35,500 kg of cocaine were seized at the scene. The investigations began in April. During this period, intelligence, monitoring, bells and audiovisual recordings were carried out. The work made it possible to identify the complete structure of the group, the division of tasks between the members and the logistics of acquiring, transporting and storing drugs. The operation had the tactical support of the Intelligence Center of the Petrolina Municipal Public Security Secretariat (NI/SUMUSP). Integrated action helped monitor suspects and share strategic information for the success of the action.
