Four people were arrested this Saturday morning (18) after a police chase that ended in an accident on Avenida Mackenzie, in Campinas (SP). The group was fleeing the Military Police (PM) after stealing money and jewelry from a house and taking three hostages in Espírito Santo do Pinhal (SP). ? Following this identification, the police began a siege that extended to Campinas. The escape ended when the vehicle overturned in the central neighborhood of Mackenzie Avenue. The four suspects were detained at the scene of the accident. The police seized a firearm from them. The incident mobilized rescue vehicles and the Águia helicopter. As they only suffered minor injuries, three of the detainees were taken directly to the 1st Police District (DP) of Campinas. The fourth member needed medical attention and was taken to the Hospital de Clínicas (HC) of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp).
