According to the exhibition's curator, visual artist Keyla Sobral, the return to the competitive format should encourage the presentation of new and recent works. "The resumption of the concept of a competitive exhibition, with submissions of proposals in the most varied languages, will encourage artists to present their most recent projects, their unpublished works. This will provide an exhibition with emerging and updated production from the state of Pará. We hope to see a freshness, as production from Pará is increasingly stronger", he states. Created in 1982, Arte Pará reaches its 42nd edition as one of the main showcases for artistic production in the state. The exhibition was created by Romulo Maiorana and Déa Maiorana with the aim of promoting and valuing the visual arts produced in Pará. Arte Pará 2026 is coordinated by the Romulo Maiorana Foundation (FRM) and carried out through the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), sponsored by Phebo and Vale.
