Justice keeps prisoner suspected of raping passenger during race in Londrina A 19-year-old girl was locked in the car and raped by a driver, during an app race in Londrina, in the North of Paraná, according to the Military Police (PM-PR). The suspect was identified as Maykon de Camargo Pereira, aged 42, and arrested in the act. The police report was registered on Saturday (18), the same day that Maykon was located and arrested. He underwent a custody hearing and had his arrest converted to preventative arrest. The suspect did not have a defense in the case until the last update of this report. ? She reported that, on the way, the car had some breakdowns and the driver asked to stop at a gas station. Afterwards, the man would have praised her and said that "it was a shame" that the race would end. Maykon de Camargo Pereira is 42 years old and was arrested red-handed. He parked on another street in the neighborhood, where the rape took place. The woman only managed to leave after he returned to the residence address and unlocked the car. "I told him to stop, I said I didn't want to. Until there came a moment [when] I got really scared and I stopped. All I could think about was, like, trying not to make the situation worse," the young woman said in her statement. History of violence Maykon was found by military police on the same day of registration. He was in the central area of ??the city, in the same car. According to the PM, he denied the accusations and said that the relationship had been consensual. Afterwards, in testimony, he remained silent. RPC, a TV Globo affiliate in Paraná, found that the man has four recent cases of gender-based violence against women. All are under judicial secrecy.
