(UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - São Paulo forwarded Tapia's loan to Columbus Crew, from the United States. GE's initial information was confirmed by the report.

The report found that the Chilean striker must play for the MLS club for one season, in a deal that includes a purchase option set at US$1.5 million (around R$8.3 million).

Talks between the clubs have progressed in recent days, but there are still final details for the exit to be agreed.

Tapia has a contract with São Paulo until the end of 2029 and the club holds 60% of his economic rights.

REFORMULATION

Tapia's departure is part of the squad reformulation process carried out by the football department this summer.

With Dorival Júnior, the striker lost space in the competition for a place in the offensive sector, and the club started to consider a loan as the best alternative for the player to regain his streak.

While directing the Chilean's departure, São Paulo also reinforces the squad.

Victor Sá has already been announced, while Domingos Duarte and Aurélio Buta have a verbal agreement. There is still Newton, with advanced talks about leaving Botafogo.

Furthermore, defender Alan Franco was loaned to Tigres, from Mexico, in an operation valid for one and a half seasons with an option to purchase.
