According to information, the midfielder of the Spanish national team believes he can take on a prominent role at Real Madrid and welcomes the possibility of leaving Manchester City after seven seasons. Although the Spanish club has not yet presented an official proposal, the Merengue board is preparing an attack to try to reach an agreement with the English.
Manchester City, however, do not intend to release Rodri for any amount. The midfielder is considered one of the most important pieces of the team led by Pep Guardiola, which means that Real Madrid is making every effort to make the negotiation possible. The Red Devils are looking to reinforce their midfield following the departure of the experienced Casemiro and the knee injury suffered by Manuel Ugarte during the 2026 World Cup.
Rodri will miss the start of the season
After being named the best player at the 2026 World Cup, won by Spain, Rodri will be out of the start of the 2026/27 season. The 30-year-old midfielder will undergo surgery to treat a back injury, and there is still no timetable for his return to the pitch.
