Brazilian Luisa Stefani, seventh best in the world, and Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski, third placed, were runners-up this Sunday (12), in the Wimbledon tournament, the most traditional tennis event in the world.

They lost in the final to the French Kristina Mladenovic and the Chinese Hanyu Guo, by 2 sets to 0, with partials of 6/3 and 7/5.

This was her first women's doubles final in a Grand Slam and she became the first Brazilian in the Open Era (post 1968) to make a final in the sport in the most traditional tennis tournament. Furthermore, she is the first to reach the final since Maria Esther Bueno, in 1967. In the next ranking update, this Monday, Stefani will be the fourth best in the world. Among the pairs, Luisa and Dabrowski will be the second best of the season, behind only the North American Taylor Townsend and the Czech Katerina Siniakova.

In 2025, they will have three titles, winning the WTA 1000 in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, the WTA 500 in Strasbourg, France, and the WTA 250 in Eastbourne, England. There are also semi-finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros, as well as semis at the Miami Open and Doha.

"It was an incredible grass season for us, our first grass season. It was a lot of fun to play with Gaby on grass. We have a really fun style to play on that surface. Today we weren't good enough, we weren't sharp enough, we weren't able to take the opportunities and credit to our opponents who played a great match. Congratulations to them", said Luisa.
