João Bosco reveals the cover of part I of the album “New and Old Friends”, a phonographic project of duets with which the artist celebrates his 80th birthday last Monday, July 13th. In the cover photo, Bosco poses in front of a wall on which objects and pictures hang with references to the life and work of the singer, composer and guitarist from Minas Gerais. Some paintings feature photos of the five guests – Cesar Camargo Mariano, Hamilton de Holanda, Mart'nália, Tiago Iorc and Zeca Pagodinho – from this first part of the album, scheduled to be released on July 31st. With pianist and keyboardist Cesar Camargo Mariano, Bosco revisits “Casa de marimbondo” (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc, 1975). With mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda,. the meeting is in the samba “Nação” (João Bosco, Aldir Blanc and Paulo Emílio, 1982). With Mart'nália, Bosco sings the boisterous samba “Kid Cavaquinho” (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc, 1974). With Tiago Iorc, the duet takes place in the song “Perfeição” (João Bosco and Francisco Bosco, 2009). Finally, with Zeca Pagodinho, Bosco returns the “stuffed crab and the bagel” (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc, 1980) to the pan. Detail: one of the six tracks on “Amigos novo e old – Parte I” is sung only by João Bosco. The solo is in the song “Boca de sapo” (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc, 1979), recorded by Bosco in a feat with the singer Clementina de Jesus (1901 – 1987) – which justifies the photo of the artist with Clementina in the mosaic of images on the cover of the album “Amigos novo e old”.
