Ed Motta launches on September 25th the first album composed and recorded in Portuguese since “AOR”, an album released in 2013, 13 years ago. In his 15th studio album, the singer, composer and instrumentalist from Rio de Janeiro goes from electro funk – the genre of the single with an 80s atmosphere “Eu Quero ser Feliz”, scheduled for next Friday, July 17th – to bossa nova, with which Ed flirts on the track “Casa defronta pro mar”. With new and original songs such as “Grande plano” and “Não tem contradição”, both composed with the harmonic complexity of the repertoires of the artist's last albums, the album has musical production orchestrated by Michel Limma with Ed Motta himself. In a repertoire that includes ballads and echoes in several tracks the electro funk of reference bands for the artist, such as Cameo and Surface, the album represents the resumption of the sound aesthetics of Ed Motta's first records. “I felt immense nostalgia for my first records, a phase with innocence and purity preserved because I had always listened to the records that influenced me”, explains the singer. The album will be released on Ed's record label, Dwitza, in partnership with German label MPS. It is worth remembering that Ed Motta's three previous albums – “Perpetual gateways” (2016), “Criterion of the senses” (2018) and “Behind the tea chronicles” (2023), released over the last ten years – were composed and recorded in English.
