British singer Bonnie Tyler died at the age of 75 this Thursday, 9th.
The artist's family and team reported her death "unexpectedly during the night in a hospital in Portugal, as a result of the illness for which she was being treated", they wrote in a note.
The artist had been in serious condition in the ICU since mid-June after coming out of an induced coma. In May, she underwent emergency intestinal surgery and the following day she suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest.
"I remember him [Fábio Jr.] being a very handsome man who gave me a beautiful gold ring with stones set. He was absolutely beautiful. I can't remember the song now, but we were number 1 in Brazil. That was very exciting", recalled the singer in an interview with Estadão held in 2022, when she went on a Brazilian tour celebrating 50 years of her career.
At the time, she also chose the five greatest singers of all time: Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Pink, Janis Joplin and Miley Cyrus.
Throughout her career, Bonnie Tyler has sold more than 100 million records, released dozens of albums and toured all over the world. His latest studio album, The Best Is Yet to Come, was released in 2021.
In 2023, Tyler was honored by King Charles III with the title of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her artistic contributions.
Tyler had success with the hits 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' and 'Holding Out for a Hero'. The singer turned a hoarse voice, the result of vocal cord surgery in the 1970s, into her trademark.
