Vorcaro ordered dossier against CEO of Itaú
BRASÍLIA, DF (FOLHAPRESS) - The owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, ordered a dossier against the CEO of Itaú Unibanco, Milton Maluhy Filho, from publicist Thiago Miranda, according to the Federal Police...
In the dialogues about Maluhy, Vorcaro says that he is "causing him a lot of trouble". “Help me with this?” asked the ex-banker. The publicist responds: "Leave it to me."
The decision by Minister André Mendonça, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), which authorized this Thursday's operation against Miranda, says that the CEO is a "potential victim of the investigation ordered by Daniel Vorcaro".
According to the minister, the investigation shows that, among the materials shared by the two interlocutors, "a document containing personal and patrimonial information about Milton Maluhy Filho and Camila Moretti Maluhy stands out".
"The analysis of the file made it possible to verify the presence of the visual identity of Agência Mithi, a company linked to Thiago Miranda, in a circumstance that suggests that the document was produced, edited or, at least, circulated within the scope of the aforementioned business structure", says Mendonça, in his decision.
"The file is entitled 'Maluhy Family Report on Tax Execution - Milton Maluhy Filho and Camila Moretti Maluhy Case', expressly containing the warning that it is 'confidential information'."
The reporter contacted Itaú's press office via message, but there has been no response yet. The publicist was also contacted, but did not respond until the publication of this text.
This Thursday's operation, the 10th Phase of Compliance Zero, had Miranda as its main target. He was hired for Vorcaro's crisis management project, which involved attacks on the Central Bank.
Dialogues between the former banker and Miranda, between March and April 2025, also showed that the two wanted to "stop" the work of journalist Malu Gaspar, columnist for the newspaper O Globo, by carrying out a search for her private data.
Cell phones and other electronic equipment used by the advertiser were seized at his home. According to the PF, the action investigates coordinated action on social networks aimed, in theory, at compromising the credibility of the actions of the Central Bank of Brazil.
The investigations also investigate the activities of a possible criminal organization dedicated to the intimidation of journalists, the illicit monitoring of people linked to public authorities, the improper obtaining of confidential information and the adoption of measures designed to interfere in criminal investigations.
According to the PF, the facts investigated could, in theory, constitute crimes against the national financial system, a criminal organization, embarrassment to the investigation of a criminal organization, in addition to other related crimes, including possible violations of data and IT devices.
