Before the gifts were given, the players stood on a scale installed at the event to define the quantity of tomatoes they would receive. Gavi took 68 kilos and Fabián Ruiz 84 kilos. Why the tomato? The choice of the gift was not by chance. Los Palacios y Villafranca is a reference in tomato production in Andalusia, and growing the fruit is one of the activities that helps boost the local economy. Tomatoes are also part of the municipality's identity, which promotes events and actions to value producers and the culture linked to the product. Among the varieties associated with the region is Bombón Colorao, one of the local agricultural symbols. Therefore, instead of offering a traditional souvenir to the champions, the city council decided to transform one of the city's main products into a tribute to the players.
