SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) - Economists reduced their inflation forecast this year for the third consecutive week, but at a slower pace than in previous surveys in the Focus bulletin, released this Monday (20).

Analysts expect the IPCA (Extended National Consumer Price Index) to end 2026 at 5.15%, just 0.01 percentage points less than last week. In the last survey, the drop had been 0.14 percentage points.

Even with the decrease, the inflation forecast still remains above the target limit, which is 3% with a variation of 1.5 percentage points plus or minus.

The people interviewed by the Central Bank also changed inflation to 2028, but there was an increase from 3.70% to 3.78%. The outlook for next year remains at 4.2%.

Economists still maintained forecasts for the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) at 1.99%, the dollar at R$5.20 and the interest rate at 14%.
