A new cold front changes the weather again in southern Brazil this Monday (6). According to Climatempo, the formation of a new cyclogenesis, which will give rise to an extratropical cyclone off the coast of Uruguay, intensifies instability in the region, with a forecast of moderate to heavy rain and the risk of isolated storms, especially between Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná.

In addition to rain, the system also favors the entry of a new mass of polar air, which drops temperatures in the South again, with the possibility of localized frost in Rio Grande do Sul during the night.

South

The instability begins in the morning, with increased cloudiness over Rio Grande do Sul. The rain should gain strength mainly in the northern half of the state, in addition to the west of Santa Catarina and the southwest of Paraná.

Throughout the day, the cold front advances and maintains conditions for moderate to heavy rain on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Costa Doce, Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, west and south of Santa Catarina and south and southwest of Paraná. In the south of Paraná, there is a risk of isolated storms.

Until tonight, the showers continue over Santa Catarina and Paraná, while the extratropical cyclone moves away to the high seas.

With the passage of the cold front, a new mass of polar air enters the region, causing a drop in temperatures. In Rio Grande do Sul and areas of Santa Catarina, lows may occur at night, with the possibility of occasional frosts in Campanha and western Rio Grande do Sul.

Southeast

In the Southeast, the cold front remains away over the ocean, but the maritime circulation maintains greater cloudiness and light and isolated rain on the coast of Espírito Santo, east and northeast of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and the coast of São Paulo.

In other areas of the region, the predominance is sunny with few clouds and dry weather. At the end of the day, the increase in cloud cover in the south of São Paulo indicates the approach of a new cold front coming from the South.

Relative air humidity remains low during the afternoon in the north, west and Triângulo Mineiro. Temperatures remain milder in the center-south of São Paulo, south of Minas Gerais, south of Espírito Santo and center-south of Rio de Janeiro.

Midwest

The dry air mass continues to predominate over the Central-West, keeping the weather firm in Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal and most of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The only exception occurs in the south and southwest of Mato Grosso, where the approach of the cold front can cause rain showers between the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures rise throughout the day, but the extreme south of Mato Grosso do Sul is already beginning to feel the advance of polar air, with more pleasant temperatures. Low humidity continues to be highlighted in Goiás, Federal District, east of Mato Grosso and east of Mato Grosso do Sul.

Northeast

The Eastern Wave Disturbances continue to favor rain over the Northeast coastal strip.

The most intense rainfall is expected to occur between the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba and Ceará, with a risk of localized storms and flooding.

There is also a forecast of rain between the coast of Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe and Bahia, especially in the south of Bahia, where showers may occur with moderate to strong intensity.

In the north of Maranhão and Piauí, there is also a forecast of moderate to heavy rain, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms.

In the interior of the region, the scenario remains typical of winter, with a predominance of dry weather, heat and low levels of humidity, mainly in the center-west of Bahia and in the south of Maranhão and Piauí.

North

The combination of heat and high humidity maintains instability in the north of the country.

The forecast indicates heavy showers in Roraima, with the possibility of isolated storms and flooding. The action of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ZCIT) also favors rain in Amapá, the northern half of Amazonas and in areas of the north, west, northeast and coast of Pará.

On the other hand, the weather remains firm in Tocantins, Rondônia, Acre, central-southern Pará and southern Amazonas, where the dry air mass reduces cloudiness and maintains low levels of relative humidity during the afternoon.
