Cold remains in part of the country with risk of frost in some regions; see the weather forecast

The polar air mass continues to influence the weather in much of Brazil this Thursday (9), keeping temperatures low in the South and part of the Southeast. The high pressure system also favors the predominance of firm weather in a large part of the country, while the rain remains concentrated between the Northeast coast and the North Region.

Another highlight continues to be the low relative humidity, which remains at attention and alert levels in the Central-West, interior of the Southeast, Tocantins and part of the Northeast.

South

The polar air mass keeps the weather stable throughout southern Brazil. The day starts with low temperatures, mainly in Campanha, Serra, West and Southeast of Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to the higher altitude areas of Santa Catarina and Paraná.

There is a forecast of isolated frosts between the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina and also between the north of Santa Catarina and the south of Paraná.

Throughout the afternoon, the predominance of sun between few clouds favors the gradual rise in temperatures, making for a pleasant afternoon.

Southeast

In the Southeast, the high pressure system keeps the weather steady in practically all states.

The circulation of moisture from the ocean still causes greater cloudiness and light to moderate rain on the coast of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, as well as the east and northeast of Minas Gerais. In the extreme northeast of Minas Gerais, rain may occur with greater intensity.

The mornings remain mild in the south of Minas and in the center-south of São Paulo, while temperatures gradually increase during the afternoon.

Relative air humidity remains low between the Triângulo Mineiro, north and west of Minas Gerais and the extreme north of São Paulo, with rates between 20% and 30%.

Midwest

Thursday will be firm weather in Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás and the Federal District.

The predominance of sunshine favors an increase in temperatures during the afternoon, although the south and southeast of Mato Grosso do Sul continue to experience milder temperatures.

The main highlight continues to be the low relative humidity. In Goiás, Federal District, center-east of Mato Grosso and part of Mato Grosso do Sul, rates can vary between 12% and 20%, increasing the risk of fires and requiring health care.

Northeast

Humid winds maintain the forecast of rain between Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, the extreme north of Bahia and the Salvador region.

In the south and south coast of Bahia, the influence of a cold front in the ocean favors more intense showers. There is also rain forecast on the coast of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará.

In the interior of the region, the scenario continues with firm weather, heat and low air humidity. Western Bahia remains on alert, with rates between 12% and 20%.

North

In the North Region, the action of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ZCIT), associated with heat and high availability of humidity, favors rain showers in Roraima, Amapá, the northern half of Amazonas and the north, northeast and coast of Pará.

Precipitation may occur with moderate to heavy intensity and irregularly.

In Tocantins, Rondônia, Acre, southern Amazonas and other areas of Pará, the weather remains firm, with little cloudiness. In Tocantins, low humidity continues to be a concern, with rates between 12% and 20% in the afternoon.
