Cold front and extratropical cyclone change the weather in Brazil; see the regions that should receive rain

The formation of an extratropical cyclone near Uruguay influenced the weather in southern Brazil at the beginning of this week, bringing a corridor of humidity that causes rain this Monday (6). However, the tendency is for rainfall to quickly lose strength, giving way to a period of hotter and drier weather in much of the Center-North of the main soybean producing regions.

In the Northeast, the rains forecast for the interior of Ceará, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte should occur between Thursday (9) and Friday (10). Despite the instability, the expectation is for low volumes, without significant accumulations.

For next week, the forecast indicates the return of rain to the South region with the advance of a new cold front. The system should also favor precipitation in areas of the Southeast and Center-West, although the forecast volumes are low, with accumulations of between 10 and 15 millimeters.

In addition to the rain, the advance of the cold air mass will keep temperatures lower in the south of the country. The warning for more intense cold remains concentrated in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and southern Paraná, where minimum temperatures could once again fall below 5°C.

Cold air also reaches São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, reducing minimum temperatures to the 10°C range. Despite the drop in thermometers, there is no forecast of frost occurring in these regions.
