Two people died and two others were injured in a serious accident involving two trucks, a Ford F-1000 and a Military Police vehicle, late in the morning, on the BR-174 stretch, in Nova Lacerda (541 km west of Cuiabá)....
According to the Federal Highway Police, the officers were not injured. The two injured victims were rescued and taken to Nova Lacerda hospital. The fatal victims would be occupants of trailers.
With a violent collision, a fire hit the trucks, requiring the Fire Department and water trucks to control the flames. The highway remained completely closed until the completion of the forensic work and removal of the vehicles.
The circumstances and dynamics of the accident have not been confirmed. The Civil Police and Politec were called in for legal proceedings.
