The 1st Ritmo Run – Saúde em Movimento, promoted by the Rotary Club of Sinop with the support of the city hall, brought together around 3 thousand participants last Saturday (4) and collected 7 tons of non-perishable food. The event featured amateur and professional athletes, as well as racing teams from different regions of the state. As part of registration, each participant donated two kilos of food, which will be donated to the United for Children Project, an initiative that serves more than 500 children per week.

The president of the Rotary Club of Sinop, Allan Loureçon, celebrated the result of the first edition of the event and highlighted the regional reach of the event. "The Ritmo Run is the first race of the Rotary Club of Sinop. It was developed with great care for the population of our city and also the north of Mato Grosso, because we received participants from different cities. There were more than 3 thousand people registered and we achieved a record collection of 7 tons of food, which will be destined for the United for Children Project", he explained.

Winner of the men's general classification, Moisés Rodrigues celebrated another important result in his career and thanked him for the support he received throughout his career. "I've been racing to compete for four and a half years. And today, thank God, I became champion in this race. I want to thank the organizers of the event, my sponsors and supporters. At 44 years old, which I'm about to turn now, it's not easy to race with younger athletes, but we dedicate ourselves to it. Today I completed 43 podiums in 45 races. For me, it's gratifying to be the number one athlete in Sinop today and the only one classified in the general category of the Corrida de Reis for three years,” he said.

First placed in the women's general classification, Elizangela Silva praised the organization of the race and highlighted that the sport also represents integration and quality of life. "It was a bit painful. I'm a cyclist, an MTB [Mountain Bike] athlete, and I've been racing for eight years. I've been participating in some races for about three years, but my main focus is cycling. Today was a very good and very well organized event. Congratulations on Ritmo Run. I always say that there are those who like to compete, like me, but there are also those who participate for health, friendship, socializing and to record this moment. Sport is for competing, but also for self have fun”, he highlighted.

Champion of the PCD category, Félix Silva stated that the race marked a special moment in his career as an athlete and highlighted the importance of inclusion. "I have always participated in street races, but this one was very important for me because I achieved my best time in all competitions. Before I did the race over 20 minutes and, this time, I completed it under that time. It was a great achievement. As a PCD athlete, it is an honor to participate in this race and represent people with disabilities. I also want to thank the entire organization for the excellent work", he stated, through the city council's press office.
