The city hall confirmed the opening of an electronic competition to hire a construction company that will take on the engineering and construction services of three walking/cycling paths in high-traffic areas. The works will be on Avenidas Brasil (section between Siriemas and MT-249), Uirapurus (between Siriemas and Mamoeiros) and Arapongas (between Garças and Belo Horizonte). Among the planned steps are the cleaning and lowering of the beds, regularization and compaction of the subgrades, priming with asphalt emulsion, bonding paints, asphalt micro coating, execution of public sidewalks (sidewalks) with cast-in-place concrete and laying of guides (curbs) in prefabricated concrete.

The project aims to urbanize the central medians of the avenues, currently without specific use, transforming them into spaces intended for physical activities, coexistence and leisure. The municipal administration argues that the initiative seeks to expand the supply of infrastructure aimed at sustainable mobility and provide a better quality of life for residents.
The implementation of cycle paths and walking trails should encourage the use of non-motorized means of transport, encourage healthy habits, contribute to the appreciation of urban spaces and strengthen social integration. The services are expected to be completed by next year, with no set date.
