Mato Grosso's main airport handles more than 1 million passengers in five months

Marechal Rondon International Airport, in Várzea Grande, recorded the movement of 1.03 million passengers between boarding and disembarking in the first five months of the year. The data are from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). Between January and May, 1,033,691 passengers passed through the terminal, 244,071 in January, 178,951 in February, 208,493 in March, 197,987 in April and 204,189 in May.

In the same period, the airport recorded 7,874 aircraft movements between landings and takeoffs. January was the month with the highest number of operations, totaling 1,743 flights, followed by 1,354 in February, 1,641 in March, 1,535 in April and 1,601 in May.

Compared to the same period last year, the airport saw a 1.72% drop in passenger movement and a 10.38% drop in aircraft operations, according to the regulatory agency's indicators.

Even with the reduction recorded compared to the previous year, the terminal, which is the main one in Mato Grosso, maintained a flow of more than 200 thousand passengers per month, with the exception of February, and an average of approximately 1.6 thousand landings and takeoffs per month.
