According to the incident report, the Military Police were called after the social worker at the hospital informed that the patient had been injured by a gunshot. At the hospital, the man told the police that he was participating in a hunting activity when the gun he was carrying slipped out of his hand, fell to the ground and accidentally fired, hitting his left arm. After the incident, he sought medical attention.
During the incident, the suspect reported that the weapon used was at his father's residence, located in Setor Araras. The police went to the indicated address, where the property owner spontaneously handed over the weapon to the soldiers. According to the PM, the weapon seized was an air gun modified for .22 caliber, an adaptation considered irregular by law.
As the man remained hospitalized under medical care, it was not possible to take him to the Civil Police Station at the time of the incident. The weapon was seized and sent, along with the police report, to the Alta Floresta Civil Police Station, which will be responsible for other legal measures.
