Police received information that the house was on fire and that residents in the area were trying to contain the fire. At the scene, it was found that the fire had already spread throughout the residence. A witness reported that he rented the house to a 29-year-old woman who lives there.
The teams were then informed that the woman had been seen at around 2 am at a party held in the Margarida Alves community. However, the resident had not been located. Teams were informed that the possible suspect was in the region. Given the characteristics reported about the suspect, the police intensified tactical patrolling and located him on a bicycle, heading in the Pé de Anta–Caramujo direction.
Upon noticing the approach of the police vehicle, the suspect tried to flee into a wooded area on the banks of BR-174, and was then approached. To the police, he did not reveal the motivation for the crime. The man was taken to the police station to file a police report.
