The Public Ministry's complaint indicates that the victims, Thays Machado, aged 44, and William César Moreno, aged 30, were shot to death on January 18, 2023, in the Consil neighborhood, in Cuiabá.
Police investigations revealed that the defendant monitored and pursued the couple since they disembarked at Marechal Rondon International Airport, in Várzea Grande.
The attack took place on a public street, as Thays left his mother's building. William still tried to escape the shots by running down the sidewalk, but was shot in the back.
Carlos Alberto was captured hours after the double homicide on a rural property in Campo Verde and is currently serving preventive detention at the Ahmenon Lemos Dantas Penitentiary, in Várzea Grande, after having the benefit of home rule revoked.
