According to information confirmed by Buckingham Palace, the meeting was attended by Queen Camilla, as well as Harry and Meghan Markle. This was the first time Charles had been with the children in four years.
The last time the monarch saw his grandchildren was in 2022, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). Visits from the children, who live in the United States, have become rare since Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
The reunion was uncertain, due to impasses over the safety of the family, who lost the right to protection financed by British taxpayers after the royals' departure. Harry even reconsidered whether to take his family to the country after the British government denied a request for police custody.
According to the American portal Page Six, the palace will not release official photos of the meeting, maintaining the intimate nature of the visit. In addition to time with their grandfather, the children are expected to accompany their parents on a visit to Princess Diana's burial site on the Althorp Estate before returning to the United States.
