Milei's visit to Brazil also includes participation in the national convention of the Liberal Party (PL), scheduled to formalize the candidacy of senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) for the Presidency of the Republic.
In 2024, Tarcísio awarded the Order of Ipiranga to Karina Milei, general secretary of the Presidency of Argentina and sister of the president. The decoration was awarded during the official agenda at Palácio dos Bandeirantes and symbolized the strengthening of institutional relations between the State of São Paulo and the Argentine administration.
The Order of Ipiranga was created to recognize personalities who provided relevant services to the State, and is considered the main honorary distinction granted by the São Paulo government. The awarding of the medal to Javier Milei comes at a time of intensification of political ties between the governor of São Paulo and the Argentine president, both defenders of a liberal agenda in the economy.
