Suspect of trying to kill Rota lieutenant may have fled the state, investigation shows

On Sunday (5), the Tarcísio de Freitas (Republican) administration announced a reward of R$50,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Hércules da Costa Siqueira, known as Goliath or Peruca.

Named by the Civil Police as the author of the shooting, he was temporarily detained by the Court. The report was unable to identify who carried out his defense.

Sources linked to the government do not rule out the possibility that the suspect tries to or has even already left the country.

Ronickson was shot in the head on June 27, in São Caetano do Sul, in ABC São Paulo. He was stopped at a traffic light on Avenida Goiás, the city's main road, when he was surprised by two men on another motorcycle. The lieutenant remains hospitalized in serious condition at the Mário Covas State Hospital, in Santo André.

According to the investigation, Goliath was on the back of the motorcycle he paired with the lieutenant's at the time of the attack. After the shot, the two occupants fled.

The Civil Police say that a third suspect was responsible for driving a Renault Logan that provided operational support to the action. According to a report from São Caetano do Sul City Hall, the vehicle would have been used to more specifically monitor Pimentel's routine before the attack.

Two other cars were identified after analyzing security cameras, totaling at least five people involved. Two of them are in prison for indirect involvement in the case.

Ronickson is the older brother of Eloá Pimentel, killed at age 15 by Lindemberg Alves in the house where she lived in Santo André, also in ABC São Paulo, in October 2008.

A court document obtained by Folha de S.Paulo indicates that the crime against the police officer was planned, with prior study of times and locations.

"The dynamics of the facts also indicate that this is not a common criminal action, but a coordinated attack directed against a police officer, with evident signs of prior planning, division of tasks, use of support vehicles and evasion strategies and concealment of traces, which highlights a high degree of organization and dangerousness", says an excerpt from the document.

Three men were killed in Rota actions during the search for crime suspects. The interventions took place between Monday (29) and Thursday (2) after anonymous reports about the whereabouts of suspects involved in the attempted murder against the lieutenant.

The deaths occurred in the area of the 53rd DP (Parque do Carmo) and the 68th DP (Lageado), both in the east of São Paulo, and in Peruíbe, on the coast of São Paulo.
