Singer Cristiano, who forms a country duo with Zé Neto, said this Friday (10) that his son Miguel, aged 3, was stung by a scorpion on the family farm, located in Fronteira, Minas Gerais.

According to the artist, the child received the antiscorpion serum less than an hour after the accident and showed a good response to the treatment. As a precaution, Miguel remained hospitalized under medical observation.

In a video published on social media, Cristiano explained that the boy was first taken to the municipal health center. As the unit did not have the antidote available, professionals quickly located another service that could provide the service.

Miguel was then transferred to Nova Granada, in the interior of São Paulo, where he received three ampoules of antiscorpion serum, as well as medication to control the pain caused by the sting.

"What made a difference for Miguel was that he took this antidote as soon as possible. In less than an hour, he took the serum", said the singer, who also thanked the health teams and firefighters involved in the care.

After applying the antidote, the child was taken to the Hospital da Criança e Maternidade, in São José do Rio Preto, where he remained under observation for the 24-hour period recommended for this type of incident.

Cristiano said that his son's health history increased the family's concern. Miguel was born with a congenital heart defect and has already undergone surgery.

According to the countryman, however, the procedure completely corrected the heart problem and, according to the medical team, the condition did not represent an additional risk at that time. The care adopted was the same as that recommended for other children who were victims of scorpion stings.

Before traveling to a show in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Cristiano stated that he decided to fulfill his professional commitment after talking to his wife and the doctors responsible for his son's care.

“If I wasn’t really well, I wouldn’t have the mind to do the show,” he declared.

At the end of the report, the singer warned his followers about the importance of seeking medical attention immediately in cases of accidents with scorpions, spiders or snakes. According to him, the speed in applying the serum was essential for Miguel's recovery.
