Pigeon receives oxygen from firefighters after inhaling smoke in fire; look

Firefighters from Oakland, California, in the United States, provided aid to an unusual patient after controlling a fire in a vehicle: a pigeon that showed signs of smoke poisoning.

The case happened on Wednesday. After putting out the flames, the E29 team realized that the bird was in difficulty and had approached the professionals, apparently looking for help.

According to the corporation, the pigeon probably inhaled smoke during the fire. Faced with the situation, one of the firefighters used a mask to supply oxygen to the animal.

Images posted on social media show the bird motionless while receiving care. After a few minutes and after being able to breathe better, the pigeon left the area on its own.

The scene quickly caught the attention of internet users. Some joked about the cost of medical care in the United States.

“The pigeon will never recover financially,” wrote one Facebook user. Another joked that the bird would now have a debt of US$9,456.32.

Other people took advantage of the publication to remember that pigeons have been domesticated throughout history and, therefore, tend to get closer to humans.

"They became so used to living close to people that it became part of their behavior. I'm happy that this pigeon was treated with care," commented an internet user.
