Mbappé explodes at the end of the game and his attitude against Unai Simón goes viral

With the French elimination practically confirmed, Kylian Mbappé got involved in a dispute with goalkeeper Unai Simón and hit the Spaniard in the face. The attacker showed irritation with the result and ended up taking his frustration out on his opponent.

The Spanish players surrounded the referee and asked for a more severe punishment for the French number 10. The Salvadoran referee, however, only marked the foul and did not show a card.

The decision generated complaints among the Spanish, who considered that Mbappé could have been sent off for the blow to Unai Simón's face.
