Madonna and Kylie Minogue perform together at festival in Amsterdam

Madonna sang tracks from her new album, "Confessions II", and "Confessions on a Dance Floor". With Kylie Minogue, he sang the song "Love Sensation".

Earlier, hundreds of thousands of people occupied the banks of Amsterdam's canals to watch the traditional WorldPride water parade. Boats decorated with rainbow flags and balloons crossed the city while crowds, many in costume, followed the parade.

In addition to the party, the event had the tone of a political demonstration. Posters with phrases like "Make America Gay Again" and "Same Love. Same Rights!" were seen among the public, and one of the vessels displayed dolls representing United States President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in a satire.

This year's edition of WorldPride marks 25 years since the Netherlands held the first same-sex marriage recognized by law.

The event also took place under heightened security following the attack on Berlin's Pride parade last weekend, which left one dead and more than 30 injured. According to Reuters, police officers patrolled the region on bicycles, boats, jet skis and vehicles. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema announced additional security measures, although without detailing them.

Despite the reinforced scheme, organizers told Reuters that the priority remained to preserve the inclusive character of WorldPride and not allow fears of attacks to affect the celebrations.
