There are paintings, potrones, ottomans, crockery and personal objects from the collection of Jô Soares (1938-2022). The pieces are being cataloged and will be sold at a charity bazaar, with no date set yet. The initiative to donate them came from Flávia Pedras, widow of the presenter and comedian.
The Artists' Retreat occupies a 15,000 m² space in Jacarepaguá, in the southwest zone of Rio and, in addition to the dormitories, houses a theater, cinema, library, swimming pool and cinema hall.
There are currently more than 40 residents in Retiro, and seven of their houses were built at the request of Marieta Severo, who fully financed the construction, materials and furniture of the units.
