The first match will take place on Saturday (1st), at 9pm (Brasília time), at Vila Belmiro, while the return match will be played at 9:30pm next Tuesday (4th), at Mangueirão.
The main unknown for the first meeting involves the articulation between the midfield and the attack.
While Gabriel Bontempo has shown himself to be fundamental for the smooth functioning of both sectors, the trio formed by Rollheiser, Neymar and Gabigol continues to be unable to work together.
The decisive training session to resolve the coach's doubts is scheduled for this Friday, at 10 am, at CT Rei Pelé.
ROLLHEISER AND GABIGOL "THREATENED"
The last time the three started among the starters, Santos only drew with Chapecoense, in the Brazilian Championship, in a game marked by discreet performances from Rollheiser and Gabigol.
The center forward even left the pitch amid boos from the fans.
In the 4-2 victory over Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), last Tuesday (28), the trio shared the field for just 30 minutes in the second half, after Neymar's entry at halftime.
Gabigol found the back of the net, but wasted good opportunities throughout the match.
OVERLOADED DEFENSIVE SYSTEM
Before the break for the World Cup, Cuca had already taken the team's number 9 shirt as he understood that the simultaneous presence of the trio would overload the defensive composition.
The striker only returned to the starting lineup when Neymar was injured and was recovering to join the Brazilian team. In four games during that period, Gabigol scored five goals, distributed two assists and regained his place.
JOÃO SCHMIDIT IN ROLLHEISER'S SPOT?
If he chooses to maintain maximum strength with Neymar and Gabigol in the attack, Cuca can promote the entry of João Schmidt in Rollheiser's place to provide greater support and compensate for the low defensive recomposition of the front duo.
