Raízen reported, on Thursday (30), that the Court approved its extrajudicial recovery plan, making effective the renegotiation of approximately R$61.4 billion in unsecured financial debts contracted with financial institutions and issued in the Brazilian and international capital markets. The decision was handed down by the 3rd Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery Court of the Central District of São Paulo, the company explained through a relevant fact.

According to the company, the plan was supported by 81.6% of unsecured financial creditors subject to recovery and was not challenged by any creditor in the group. In a relevant fact, the company stated that the approval “reinforces stakeholders' confidence in the consensual and structuring solution for the Raízen Group's debt, reconciling its short-term liquidity needs with an adequate and sustainable capital structure in the long term”.
With the court decision, Raízen will continue with the measures provided for in the plan, including the conversion of part of the credits into equity participation, in the form of Units (packages of shares), and into new guaranteed debt securities. The company also intends to carry out a capital increase of between R$3.5 billion and R$4 billion, to be subscribed by Shell and, if it confirms membership, by Aguassanta Participações, controlled by the family of Rubens Ometto, Cosan's controlling shareholder.
Furthermore, the company informed that it will continue with corporate reorganizations, segregation and divestment of assets to separate the fuel and energy distribution businesses. Raízen added that it will subsequently disclose to creditors the procedures for choosing the payment options provided for in the plan and will keep the market informed about upcoming developments.
