Cruzeiro arrives for the decision in one of the best moments of the season. Under the command of Artur Jorge, the team found regularity, grew in performance and began to compete for a place in the next Copa Libertadores via the Brazilian Championship. Now, in front of his fans, he is trying to turn his good moment into qualification to continue dreaming of one of the most important titles on the national calendar.
In the Copa do Brasil campaign, Cruzeiro eliminated Goiás in the previous phase and is betting on the strength of Mineirão to confirm its favoritism against the Santa Catarina team.
Chapecoense lives a completely different scenario. Last placed in the Brazilian Championship, the club sees the Copa do Brasil as a chance to change the course of the season. The tendency is for the coach to maintain a compact team, betting on strong marking and speed in counterattacks to surprise the opponent.
"We know the difficulties of facing Cruzeiro at Mineirão, but we showed throughout the competition that we can compete against any opponent. We are going in search of classification", said Rafael Lacerda.
