Brazilian football will take a break during the Women's Cup in 2027

There will be 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams. In total, the tournament will have 64 matches.

FIFA chose eight cities to host the games:

- Belo Horizonte (Mineirão)- Brasília (Mané Garrincha)- Fortaleza (Arena Castelão)- Porto Alegre (Beira-Rio)- Recife (Arena de Pernambuco)- Rio de Janeiro (Maracanã)- Salvador (Arena Fonte Nova)- São Paulo (Neo Química Arena)

The entity only officially confirmed that the opening and final will be played at Maracanã. The complete table with dates, times and distribution of games between venues will be published after the groups are drawn.

The break during the competition period is mainly due to the use of stadiums belonging to teams from the first and second division of the Brazilian Championship.

In April, FIFA (International Football Federation) also released the list of CTs (Training Centers) that will be available to the national teams.

In total, there are 38 CTs spread across Brazil, linked to a place of accommodation. Among the spaces selected by the entity are Granja Comary, in Teresópolis, the Presidente Laudo Natel Athlete Training Center, the CT at São Paulo's base in Cotia, the CT Rei Pelé, from Santos, and the Dr. Novelli Junior Stadium, from Ituano.

So far, 14 teams have already guaranteed their presence at the World Cup:

- Brazil (host country)- Argentina- Australia- China- Colombia- North Korea- South Korea- Denmark- Spain- Philippines- France- Germany- Japan- New Zealand

The other 18 places will be filled by the continental qualifiers and the intercontinental repechage, scheduled for the first months of 2027.

Current champion of the men's and women's World Cup, Spain arrives as one of the big favorites to win the second championship among women as well.

The federal government estimates that it will need an investment of at least R$1.5 billion for Brazil to host the 2027 Women's World Cup.

The investments will focus on actions related to public security, telecommunications infrastructure, in addition to "building the World Cup legacy" and promoting the event.
