Bolsonaro asks the STF to welcome his children on Father's Day

Bolsonaro is under house arrest and wants authorization to receive his sons Carlos, Jair Renan and Flávio Bolsonaro.

In a petition sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the former president's lawyers stated that the visit will have a "humanitarian nature" to preserve family ties. Bolsonaro is

prohibited from receiving visitors under house arrest for a period of 30 days, which ends on August 17. Last month, the measure was determined by the minister after senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) published a letter written by the former president on social media. Bolsonaro is prohibited from using the internet, including through third parties, during house arrest.

In the same decision, Moraes added that Bolsonaro is prohibited from receiving visits for political-electoral purposes until the end of the October elections.

The former president also cannot disclose election manifestos, including through third parties, by any means of dissemination. Last year, Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison in the coup plot process. Then, after undergoing surgery, he gained the right to serve house arrest. The former president is recovering from bacterial pneumonia.
