COULDN'T PERFORM IN THE WORLD
The last time the Uruguayan played was on April 29, against Estudiantes, in Argentina, for the Libertadores. In that match, he suffered a fracture in his right collarbone and began his "astral hell".
The next day, he landed in Rio de Janeiro and went straight to the operating table to speed up his recovery. The player dedicated himself in up to three periods and managed to be called up for the World Cup. However, with the Uruguay team, things did not go as expected.
The midfielder suffered an injury to his right calf that prevented him from taking the field at the World Cup. In the first two games of the group stage, he wasn't even on the bench. In the third round, he watched in reserve as his team was defeated 1-0 by Spain and ended up being eliminated early.
The muscle injury generated criticism from Flamengo, who accused Uruguay of not following the protocols indicated by the red and black doctors. Then coach of the national team, Marcelo Bielsa responded to the Gávea club in a press conference.
FLAMENGO WILL HAVE FIVE MISSINGS
Arrascaeta's return was big news, but it's not all good news for Flamengo. Coach Leonardo Jardim will have five absences against Chapecoense.
Lucas Paquetá and Léo Ortiz, who were already injured, continue to recover. Luiz Araújo suffered an injury in last Friday's friendly against Olímpia, and became the new problem in the medical department.
Furthermore, De la Cruz was spared for not playing on synthetic turf. Carrascal is now suspended.
