Still in the hospital bed, she posted a video reporting her experience. "As an American, I didn't know exactly what to expect. But, from the first day, I was treated with a lot of respect, attention and affection by doctors, nurses and the entire team. My experience has been very positive, and this has changed the way I see the public health system in Brazil", she said.
According to her, her reference was the American healthcare system. "My experience with hospitals in the United States is not the best. There, I feel that you are treated like a customer, and the relationship between the hospital and the patient is extremely cold," he added.

On the profile @gringadoalaska, she usually shares her routine in Brazil, often praising the hospitality and friendliness of Brazilians. The experience lived during almost two weeks of hospitalization, however, exceeded his expectations.
"I already knew that Brazilian culture is very welcoming, but being in the hospital surprised me even more. Everyone here treats me like a person, not like a client." She ends the video by making a declaration of affection for the country and the SUS.
