Allan Souza Lima says he was almost beaten by the villain of 'Quem Ama Cuida'

"Brazil is very angry with Tom. I almost got beaten up in São Paulo a few weeks ago", said the actor, laughing, when commenting on the character's impact. For him, this type of reaction demonstrates that the plot managed to raise public awareness about a problem that affects thousands of women.

Allan explained that he sought to escape a predictable interpretation of the villain. Instead of building a one-dimensional character, he preferred to leave doubts on stage. "I always try to find a side that provokes questioning. It's very easy to fall into the commonplace of the villain. Bringing doubt to the scene is the best way, because people gradually understand that it is domestic violence", he stated.

According to the actor, the soap opera also arouses different reactions in relation to the character Elenice (Mariana Sena), a victim of Tom's abuse. "A lot of people get angry because she doesn't react. But that's the reality. Many victims take a while to realize that they are living in an abusive relationship."

The discussion on the topic goes beyond fiction for Allan. Engaged in campaigns to combat human trafficking and child sexual abuse, he highlighted that domestic violence is often one of the gateways to other forms of exploitation. "It all starts with vulnerability. It is this point that allows other violence to happen", he explained.

The actor also recalled a remarkable experience he had in the Marajó archipelago, in Pará, where he followed the work of an NGO and the Guardianship Council. During the action, he witnessed extreme situations of child exploitation. "I saw very heavy things. I spent two weeks visiting communities and understanding this reality up close."

On social media, Allan constantly works to raise awareness. Every week, he shares cases of feminicide and domestic violence and receives reports from women who face situations similar to those shown in the soap opera. "An artist's job is to listen. Before being an actor, we need to know how to listen to people," he said.

Asked about Tom's fate, Allan admitted that he hopes to see the character pay for his own actions. "I hope he falls. Not just because of what he did with Adriana (Letícia Colin), but because of the entire abusive relationship he built."
