SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Ajax is close to agreeing to sign striker Marcos Leonardo, from Al Hilal. Negotiations between the clubs are in the final phase and should be concluded for around R$150 million, according to UOL. The initial information is from ESPN.

The transfer marks the Brazilian's return to European football less than two years after leaving Benfica for Saudi football. At 23 years old, Marcos Leonardo had a good season for Al Hilal and is now close to strengthening the Dutch club.

The striker's name was very close to São Paulo in September last year. At the time, Tricolor advanced in talks with Al Hilal for a loan, counting on the player's desire to play for Morumbis, but there was no agreement between the clubs, mainly for financial reasons.

Marcos Leonardo is the second Brazilian signed by Ajax this summer. He will be teammates with Caio Henrique, a recently signed left-back from Monaco.
