Image shows victim being treated by military firefighters in Blumenau Fábio Bublitz, NSC TV A 21-year-old young man was completely buried after falling down an embankment in Blumenau, in the Itajaí Valley, this Tuesday (21). The victim was saved by co-workers who dug the earth and managed to remove him until help arrived. The Fire Department detailed that the group was working on building a retaining wall for the ravine behind a residence when the accident occurred, around 8:30 am. According to Captain Fillipi Pamplona, ??the young man only survived thanks to the quick action of his colleagues. ?Click and follow the g1 SC channel on WhatsApp "Today, the heroes of the day, truly, are his co-workers. If it weren't for their quick action, perhaps, we would have arrived here and wouldn't have had time to do the whole process of excavating and extracting him alive", he said. The young man was taken to Santo Antônio Hospital, in Blumenau, for medical care, after complaining of pain in his leg. The area was isolated by firefighters and a team from the municipal Civil Defense will assess the risks of the work.
