According to labor legislation, the presentation of a false medical certificate can be classified as an act of misconduct, one of the hypotheses provided for dismissal for just cause in article 482 of the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT). The application of the penalty, however, depends on proving the irregularity and analyzing the circumstances of the case. The company also contacted the health unit. An employee reported that the institution does not issue medical certificates online and that the man was not treated that day. After analysis, the employer fired the employee. According to the police record, other certificates previously presented by the worker had characteristics similar to those of the document considered irregular. The institution reported, however, that it had not confirmed everyone's falsehood. The Civil Police informed that the case is being investigated at the 1st Police Station of Juiz de Fora and that other information will be released at an appropriate time, so as not to harm the work. In a note, the City of Juiz de Fora informed that the Department of Health follows the guidelines of the Ministry of Health for the standardization of data on medical certificates. The municipal administration also highlighted that false documents can constitute crimes such as document forgery, use of a false document and ideological falsehood, depending on the case.
